In this week, there's a lot of things happened in my life. I'll just post some of the unforgettable experiences that I had encountered. At first, I was happy this week because I finished my reporting about the topic we divided for the subject, “Project Management”. Second, I was sad because, after that report, I got sick and I don’t know what the possible causes are about. But in my mind I think the cause to my sickness is what something I want to but nothing want to. I cannot explain any further because I can’t truly explain it. In my reading about the article “Green Projects” by Dave Nielsen, I learned many things about the topic he wrote. On that article, it focuses it on how project managers can help the nation on creating a project or a system that could lessen the pollution of the environment. As we all know nowadays, many of the places around the globe are now very polluted. In some areas in the world, they are already experiencing global warming and climate change which is very dangerous to all of the living things in the world. Many effects of it like changing of weather and also there will be calamities because of it. In the article, there was stated that “Projects that are environmentally ‘friendly’ by virtue of their ability to reduce pollution, reduce fossil fuel consumption, or some other positive effect on the environment are definitely among those projects that are going forward. So project managers should increase their focus and awareness on these areas.” In this statement, we the project managers should be able to cope up with a project that was pollution-free, reduce the fossil fuel consumption, and also it will create positive effect on the environment.
As I had imagined, many things that will be able to create or develop in the field of agriculture like in the article “developers of large scale solar farms in Ontario, Canada, are preparing to battle the provincial government over its restrictions on where solar farms can be placed. Solar farms are vast areas of solar panels which supply electricity to a power grid. Solar power companies either lease or buy existing farms to install the panels. The ideal place for these farms is as close to the power grid as possible. That placement will reduce the length of transmission lines and reduce the cost of the project.” As I had read it, I remembered our farm in our province, I think that was the system that I was longing for our farm, since it was vast and also there was no electricity supply running for our farm. Like also in the article, there are also disadvantages and also restrictions why we could not create that kind of system in our farm. In our side, it will be a great responsibility not to steal from others our system. It was happened that many thieves are just walking around and just surveying our farm to be able to stole some fruits and sell them to other buyers of fruits, second is the security for invaders because in our farm, there are guerillas moving around and just buy one mistake of ours, they will destroy some of our resources but luckily, that was not happened in our farm but in some other areas only. On the article I read, I just realized that many things we can create or develop and also it can help our mother earth that was drowning from pollution right now. I was hoping that most of the project managers can be able to create or develop a new system that will be a pollution- free.
Many days have passed that I have not been posting in my blog, since the day of the last assignment was given to our facilitator, and now I have free time to post a blog, I want to say something. When I opened my blog last day and I was surprised that many people respond to my request to follow my blog and my last follower in that day was Andre May Macarayan. I would like to thank all of my followers who followed my blog specially my last follower. I wish that you will be on good health always and take care always.
Nowadays, many of us dreams of what kind of successful being someday. Some of us pursue their dreams no matter what kind of hardships they will take in order to reach their goals. As I have read the commencement speech of Steve Jobs at Stanford on their college graduation, I had learned a lot from his speech. His speech can be used to our different fields of lives. In many aspects, it can help us to be more encouraged in where we will get fail. Here are some of the lessons that I had learned on the commencement speech of Steve Jobs:
On the first story that was the “connecting the dots”. He said that he did not graduated on college since he thinks that his destiny is not to graduate in college. He is a very easy- go- lucky person to me, since for us, the students, we really think that we should go to school in order to graduate so that we can have a better job for our tomorrow. It was very fascinating for me that the attitude possessed by Steve Jobs. He did not care for the disadvantage of not going to school. He was just very smart enough to think his best choice is to drop his class but his decisions in life at that time caused him to become more successful. It is because, he said that the Macintosh will not have multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. At that time when he dropped out on his regular class, he enrolled a subject about calligraphy which it was very helpful for him to design the Mac. For us who just going to school for now, we need to be good in our decisions so that we can be enabled to attain what kind of success we want in our life, even if at first, we were down, but still if we keep on searching our true meaning of happiness, one day, our experience at the past days, or years, or decades, will help us or guide us to whatever we want in our life.
The second is about “love and loss”. In the speech of Steve Jobs, even he lost his position and fired out in his own company, still Steve Jobs never surrender conquering his goals of what kind of path he take, he still work with the same kind of field even if it was small at the start, until he finally get back in his own company, the Apple. I learned in this story is that, we should be more courageous to our path we take even if we fail. Some people will not continue their ambitions if at first they will fail because by them. We should be able to face the failures in life because it was part of our journey, treat it as your success too, because if we can be able to correct it, we will be much more contented with our choice or path we take.
The Last is about death. We all know that death is the very hard to avoid. We did not know when death come to us and when we will died except for we have threats in life or we are sentence to death due to our sins we made. But, death is the only thing for me that will stop you for what you are while you are living. If you are alive until now, I learned from Steve Jobs is be more enjoyable in your life. You should be able to live life as if you will die tomorrow. You should fulfill what you are wanting for today. Do not hesitate to do things even if you cannot finish it, at least, you try. I remember the words Steve Jobs said in his speech “Stay hungry, stay foolish”. You must be able to give your best in every day you are alive in this world.
